Hipster Tipster: Yellow Submarine and The Little Zebras looking good

After spending some time mourning the death of German football – all four Bundesliga sides failed to win in the Champions League on matchday five– I’ve dried my tears and am ready to face another weekend of action from across Europe – all from the comfort of my beloved Poang of course.
My latest Sunday afternoon selections are a little leftfield to say the least, but, like all great minds – I’m looking at you Zlatan and Jurgen Klopp – we should never be afraid to fly in the face of convention.
So ignore the naysayers, get that pink Palermo shirt on, open up a bottle of imported Dutch witbier and brace yourself for an afternoon with the Gods of the game!
Neither of these sides is in particularly great shape, but with the Zebrette scoring wins both home and away against the Diavolo last term, it could be worth backing Italy’s other black and white team to claim victory at the San Siro – particularly when you consider the price on offer.
Like Gerard Butler in 300, the Greek warriors of Asteras fought back bravely from 2-0 down to draw with Besiktas this week, though it wasn’t enough to save their Europa League campaign. But with Ergotelis in the relegation zone having won one of their last nine, the Tripolis side have a hope here.
The return of Boavista to the Portuguese top-flight has also seen the comeback of arguably the best kit in the European game – and a must for all true hipsters. Fresh from a 1-0 win over Penafiel, they will have hope against a Maritimo side on a run of three defeats in the league.
The Yellow Submarine of Villarreal sank Getafe with a 2-1 win last time out in La Liga and should have enough to see off basement side Cordoba, who have picked up a paltry seven points from 12 games in the division so far – a return to the Segunda Division is on the cards methinks!
