Spurs v Liverpool: Can either top-four wannabe turn it around?

Following bleak autumns where both Liverpool and Tottenham find themselves in the wrong half of the Premier League table after the internationals, can either of these so-called giants rescue their faltering seasons?
The short answer at this interval is most probably; no. Tottenham in 12th are rated as 9/1 shots to make the top-four pipe-dream a reality, while Liverpool are much shorter at 19/10 despite only residing a place above the Londoners.
