Stoke v Burnley: Away day woes to continue for Clarets

Published:

The international break came at just the wrong time for Burnley after picking up their first league win of the season against Hull.

Now they face a trip to Stoke City as they look to pick up points on the road for the first time but they face a difficult task with Mark Hughes’ men 7/10 to take all three points at the Britannia Stadium.

Burnley, on the other hand, are 4/1 to pick up their first win on the road, while the draw is available at 11/4.

But if those prices don’t appeal then Oliver Yew is here with his three best bets for the action.

Stoke to win -1 @ 17/10

Burnley may have picked up their first win of the season last time out against Hull but that came at Turf Moor and it’s been a very different story for the Premier League new boys on the road.

Sean Dyche’s side have picked up just two points from 15 on their travels and now head to Stoke to face a Potters side who are unbeaten in three games in front of their own fans.

With Burnley conceding nine goals in their last three league away matches we are backing Stoke to come out on top and overcome the -1 handicap at 17/10.

Stoke to beat Burnley 2-0 @ 6/1

The last time these sides met in England’s top-flight at the Britannia it was the home side who ran out comfortable 2-0 winners.

And with Mark Hughes’ side scoring two goals at home in their last three matches in all competitions, we are backing a repeat but this time their defence to hold firm against the basement boys.

Bojan Krkic to score and Stoke to win @ 12/5

Stoke fans will be hoping Bojan’s goal in north London last time out can kick-start his career at the Britannia Stadium and he looks as good a bet as any to find the net against bottom club Burnley.

The Spaniard is 5/1 to open the scoring and 11/10 to score at anytime, but with Stoke expected to pick up all three points backing the former Barca man to score in a home win tempts at 12/5.
