Barcelona, Bayern and Chelsea boosted for Champions League triumphs

Published:

On a roll call of Champions League royalty, they don’t come too much more regal than the subjects of Ladbrokes latest enhanced treble.

Representing three of the last four winners of Europe’s most prestigious club trophy, if Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all win their final group matches, the bookmaker will pay out at 5/2, out from 2/1.

The individual games are previewed below:

Barcelona v Paris St-Germain: Group F

A win for the Spanish giants over their French visitors in the Camp Nou will secure the group for Barcelona.

There are not any greater carrots to dangle in front of Luis Enrique’s side, knowing the three points should see fellow big guns swerved in the next round. Barca are on a seven-game winning streak as well.

Bayern Munich v CSKA Moscow: Group E

Pep Guardiola will still be smarting from that loss to Manchester City, so won’t take the visit of CSKA anything like lightly, regardless of other permutations.

Bayern are still the only unbeaten side in the Bundesliga and won the reverse fixture in Group E 3-0 in Russia.

Aside from tripping up at the Etihad after being reduced to 10 men, the German juggernauts have also kept five clean sheets in their last six.

Chelsea v Sporting Lisbon: Group G

Another team looking to bounce back strongly from a bloody nose are Jose Mourinho’s side.

Newcastle may have burst the Londoners’ sizeable bubble, but the return of midfield colossus
Nemanja Matic is a major positive for this clash.

The giant Serbian scored the winner in Lisbon and his influence should help ensure Chelsea rediscover that winning feeling in front of their home fans.
