Leicester v Liverpool: Foxes set to deny the visitors glory

Published:

Things aren’t far off being precarious for both Leicester and Liverpool this season, with the Foxes in the middle of an eight-game winless run that has dropped them to the foot of the Premier League while the patchy form of Brendan Rodgers’ side leaves them five points adrift of the top four in 11th place.

With the pair facing off just three days after the weekend action, there is a chance for the Reds to build some momentum after they beat Stoke on Saturday.

However, it’s the struggling Foxes who we’re backing as part of our best bets for the encounter, based on some pretty solid head-to-head form:

Leicester to win or draw (double chance) @ 8/11

Back when the Anfield club were a bigger force in the top-flight than they are at this very insipid moment, Leicester enjoyed a reasonable amount of success against them.

They have only lost one of the last six Premier League games at home to Liverpool, but have won just two of their unbeaten five, making the punt on the double chance the way to follow this trend.

Over 2.5 goals @ 4/5

While their form may not be up to much at the moment, Liverpool games have still been entertaining when played on the road.

12 of their last 13 in the league have flown over the 2.5-goal barrier, a run which boils down to five of their last six away from home.

Meanwhile half of Leicester’s six home games have also obliged the overs backers.

Liverpool to score first @ 7/10

Only one team has shipped the first goal in league games more than Leicester this season, with their nine first goals conceded only bettered by QPR’s 10.

Liverpool are at the other end of the scale when it comes to scoring the first of the game too, with their eight deadlock-breakers ranking the joint-second most behind Chelsea and Swansea’s nine.
