Hipster Tipster: St Pauli to win in time for Christmas

Published:

‘Tis the season of goodwill and the time of year to put others first.

That is why I’m cutting my Monmouth coffee consumption down to just five cups a week and donating the savings to a Kickstarter project aiming to cut carbon emissions in London by setting up a premium piggy-back service for those with short commutes.

With such benevolence abounding, it could finally be time for some to take pity on my beloved St Pauli and allow the fallen German Kult club to end their 10-game winless streak in Bundesliga 2, and that’s exactly what i’ll be backing this weekend.

I’ll also be dipping into the Belgian Jupiler Pro League for one of the few competitive games and backing Dani Osvaldo to be the difference for Inter.

At 17/1 for the treble it’s a solid bet and even a small stake could earn enough cheddar to donate and help PiggyBackTaxi reach it’s £500,000 target!

St Pauli to beat Aalen @ 11/10

As mentioned above, Die Freibeuter’s heady days of top-flight action couldn’t seem further away with Ewald Lienen’s men rooted to the foot of the second division having won none of their last 10 games.

Chances to reacquaint themselves with the warm glow of victory won’t come much bigger however, with Aalen winning just two of their last 15 games away from the Scholz-Arena.

Club Brugge to beat Genk @ 4/9

The Jupiler Pro League may be the gift that keeps on giving, with a host of Premier League top performers starting out there, but their refusal to stay put has seen the league resemble the SPL, albeit with better food in the stadia.

That said, this weekend throws up one of the few competitive ties with third-placed Genk taking on table toppers Brugge.

The hosts, predictably, are unbeaten in 24, while the Genk bus has been stopped just three times in 19 outings, but Michel Preud’homme’s boys will show their dominance again and are the side to back here.

Dani Osvaldo to score first @ 5/1

Those that can remember Dani strutting his stuff for Huracàn in Argentina will be glad that his troubled time on England’s wet and windy south coast is now a distant memory.

The on-loan Inter man is back among the goals, having netted seven in 15 appearances for La Beneamata, and with five of those strikes coming at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza i’m sure he’ll help put Lazio to the sword this weekend.
