Which nine-win NFL team is best placed to win the Super Bowl?

| 02.12.2014

Just four games remain in the NFL’s regular season and the playoff picture is beginning to take shape.

Five sides sit level with a 9-3 record that is the toast of the league, but some are in better shape than others. Here’s the breakdown of each side’s Super Bowl chances:

Green Bay Packers – 3/1 to win the Super Bowl

Easily the most in-form 9-3 team in the league, the Packers are on a four-game winning streak and are yet to lose at home, making them the favourites for Super Bowl glory with Ladbrokes.

Beating the Patriots in Thanksgiving week was their finest achievement yet and the matchup could well be a prelude to “the Big One” come February.

New England Patriots – 4/1

Despite that loss to the Packers, Tom Brady’s Patriots remain the American Conference’s strongest team and the 26-21 end result went some way to showcase just how close New England and Green Bay are on the field.

Denver Broncos – 4/1

The Broncos will be there or thereabouts for consecutive Super Bowl trips this season, but are a more fallible unit than they were last term, as their two losses in the month of November have shown.

Philadelphia Eagles – 12/1

Beating NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, to move to the top of that divisional tree was one of the impressive Thanksgiving-week performances and the Eagles certainly look a better bet to win the Super Bowl than the Seattle Seahawks, who Ladbrokes put ahead of them in the betting.

Arizona Cardinals – 25/1

The Cardinals are the only nine-win team in the NFL currently on a losing streak, having dropped two games in a row since veteran quarterback Carson Palmer tore his ACL.

With backup signal-caller Drew Stanton in charge, the Cardinals’ season is unravelling and his turnover rate doesn’t look like clawing Arizona to the Super Bowl.
