Syndey FC v Perth Glory: Hosts to leapfrog A-League leaders with win

| 03.12.2014

The treat that has been the midweek Premier League fixtures may be over but the football fun carries on with another televised A-League game on Thursday morning.

This week sees Sydney FC host Perth Glory in front of the BT Sport cameras and while the visitors top the league, history suggest it is the home side that will emerge victorious.

As such, Sydney, who trail league leaders Perth by just three points, go into the tie as 23/20 favourites, with the Glory available at 23/10 and the draw on at 21/10.

With the hosts offering such a skinny price however, James Curtis has trawled the market for three better value bets to back.

Sydney to beat Perth 2-1 @ 15/2

This is a bet for fans of cold hard stats but it’s hard to ignore the fact that five of the last seven meetings between these two sides have resulted in a 2-1 win for the homes side.

With four of those victories going the way of Sydney 15/2 looks too good price a price to ignore.

Andy Keogh to score anytime @ 21/10

He may have struggled for goals at the likes of Scunthorpe, Wolves and Millwall but Keogh seems to have found his level Down Under and is in something of a purple patch of form.

The Republic of Ireland international is Perth’s top scorer this season, with five strikes in his seven league games so far, and if anyone is to get the visitors on the score sheet it is likely to be this man.

Marc Janko to score first @ 5/1

Austrian international Janko is a proven operator, having hit a decent number of goals for the likes of Red Bull Salzburg and FC Twente, and the 31-year-old is enjoying his time in the A-League.

He is Sydney’s top scorer in A League action so far this term with three goals in his last six matches and after netting the opener in his side’s last win few men look better place to get the ball rolling here.
