Arsenal v Hull: Vengeful Tigers can take Gunners back to the KC
Published:
In the FA Cup third round Arsenal host Hull in a repeat of the 2013/14 final and given the two sides’ form and earlier league fixture at the Emirates, the replay-forcing draw holds much attraction.
As such, the 4/1 on parity features at the top of the betting stack for our customary trio of match wagers, as we are unconvinced by 1/3 on Arsenal and unsure about the 8/1 on the visitors dumping out the holders at home.
Arsenal to draw with Hull @ 4/1
Technically the last two encounters between the sides have finished as 2-2 draws, although fans of either club will need no reminding of the significance of Aaron Ramsey’s extra-time goal last May.
Hull raced into a two-goal lead on that occasion, stunning the assembled Wembley masses and Steve Bruce’s men were once again a thorn in Arsenal’s side when going 2-1 up here in October before eventually being pegged pack in the Premier League.
Arsenal were rocked by a 2-0 defeat at Southampton last time out, while Hull beat Everton by the same score at home and have already earned points at Newcastle, Liverpool and Goodison Park this season.
Nikica Jelavic to score anytime @ 7/2
Hull fans would live to eek a little more out of their mercurial Croatian striker, though the former Toffee has scored six times in the Premier League this season.
Jelavic is always a danger, especially in the air where Arsene Wenger’s side have been particularly deficient of late, and with two goals in his last three games this looks a great price.
Hull to score first @ 12/5
Considering the KC Stadium dwellers took the lead on four minutes during last season’s showpiece and then doubled it just four minutes later, this rates a fine price.
Although Alexis Sanchez drew first blood in the league fixture, Mohamed Diame had replied by 17 minutes, while Hull have notched before the break on three of the last four occasions they’ve scored in games.
