No chance Spurs striker leaves unless cavalry arrives

Considering the struggles Roberto Soldado has had since making the big-money move from Valencia to Tottenham, it is really rather perplexing just how many sides are willing to sign the Spaniard this January.
Clubs from all over the continent are reportedly forming an orderly queue for the 29-year-old forward, and not all of them are as bad as you might imagine.
Roma, AC Milan, Real Sociedad and Sevilla have all been mooted as potential destinations for the misfiring striker, who has managed just 15 goals in all competitions at White Hart Lane.
The latest side to join the Soldado rescue mission hails from Germany, as Bayer Leverkusen have emerged as an interested party for the former Los Che fan favourite, although Mauricio Pochettino would be wise to keep hold of his bumbling goal-getter.
While the temptation to cut ties with such a costly flop must be hard to fight for the former Southampton boss, a simple look at the number of games Spurs must play between now and the end of the season, thanks to fighting at the sharp end of three cup competitions, suggests the Lilywhites simply cannot afford to lose man power up front.
That is, of course, unless a replacement arrives during the winter transfer window and reports, as they always do where the north Londoners are concerned, indicate Daniel Levy is looking to do a deal for at least one striker this month.
Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca looks to head the Spurs chairman’s shopping list, although home-grown talents Danny Ings and Saido Berahino never seem far behind in the discussions.
Should the club fail to land a suitable striker in January, then they have no choice but to keep both Soldado and Adebayor on board.
The White Hart Lane side have a Capital One Cup semi-final with Sheffield United, which they are 1/9 to qualify from, as well as 11/1 and 16/1-rated chances to win the FA Cup and Europa League to manage alongside their ambitions to claim a top-four spot.
Doing so without regular backup to Harry Kane would be impossible.
