Transfer Wishlist: ‘Keeper hunt surely must take priority for Everton

What areas do they need to strengthen?
It appears there are two things Roberto Martinez must do in this transfer window. The first is keep hold of Ross Barkley, who has been linked with a £45m move to Manchester City.
The second is signing a goalkeeper. Tim Howard’s long-term injury has seen the Toffees left with Joel Robles as their only available senior stopper. And with Everton conceding more goals than 18 of the other 19 Premier League clubs, reinforcements are necessary.

Alex McCarthy (QPR)
The former Reading stopper’s move to west London hasn’t really worked out, with Rob Green limiting him to just two appearances this season so far.
Roberto Martinez has spoke of how any signing would be with a view to it being a long-term investment, so at 21-years-old McCarthy might make the best sense of all the goalkeepers they have been linked with.
Gerard Deulofeu (Barcelona)
The Spaniard impressed many last season during his loan spell on Merseyside, and it appears he could be back in the near future.
Farmed out again to Sevilla, the Barca man is reportedly unhappy at the Nou Camp and could be the subject of an £8m bid from Everton, in an attempt to bring him back on a permanent deal.
Andre Ayew (Marseille)
Some reports were suggesting in December that a deal was in place to bring the Ghanaian winger to Goodison Park in January, but nothing has yet been confirmed.
He’s netted three times for the current Ligue 1 leaders, but with the club undergoing an exercise to balance the books, and his contract up in June, a decent bid would surely tempt Marseille’s arm.

Neto (Fiorentina)
It’s clear Martinez has made the spot between the post his most vital needs and Neto could be a quality man to fill the gap.
He recently angered the Fiorentina hierarchy by informing them he doesn’t intend to extend his contract, and looks set for the exit.
After a series of decent performances in Serie A, a whole host of European clubs are said to be interested, but Everton could swoop under the radar if they are quick.
