Championship accumulator: Fulham derby win part of away day treble

Published:

A trip to the New Den may not be the sort of glamorous London derby that Fulham fans are used to but unless they fancy travelling to Brisbane Road next year a win against Millwall is the sort of result the Cottagers need to pick up.

Fortunately for the fallen Craven Cottage club, their east London rivals are in dreadful form in front of their own fans and with that in mind Kit Symons’ side form get their nod in Ladbrokes News’ 21/1 away day treble alongside high-flying AFC Bournemouth and the somewhat steadied ship that is Birmingham.

Read on to see why this is one away day acca that will have you travelling home with a smile on your face.

Fulham to beat Millwall @ 9/5

Looking for a winner among these two is no mean feat based on current form but with The Lions winless in seven games in front of their home fans and losing six of those ties Fulham get the nod here – just!

The Cottagers are not exactly in fine form but with two fairly recent wins on the road and the chance to put eight points between themselves and their relegation rivals the west Londoners should have all the motivation they need to extend Millwall’s hapless home run.

Bournemouth to beat Brentford @ 6/5

The Cherries may have slipped from the top of the table but with other results going their way they could finish the weekend back at the summit.

Brentford have surprised many this season but for the all the plaudits fired Mark Warburton’s way the Bees have lost three of their last five at Griffin Park.

This is not the sort of form that will have Eddie Howe concerned with his promotion hopefuls losing just two of their last 22 games and winning eight of their last 10 away from Dean Court.

Birmingham to beat Brighton @ 13/5

Neither of these sides can easily recall the wining feeling having both gone five games without the taste of success.

However, while Albion have lost three of their last five games the Blues have at least avoided defeat in four of those ties and look the most likely winners here.
