Man City folk hero boosted to open the scoring against Newcastle

Having hibernated through the first part of 2015, Manchester City awoke from their slumber with a bang on the road at Stoke last time out as Sergio Aguero and co served notice that the champions were back.

The startled Potters were on the receiving end of a 4-1 pummelling at the Britannia Stadium, largely inspired by a return to scoring ways of Man City’s most potent force.

Aguero had embarked on an unusually barren spell of five games in all competitions without a goal, but a brace against Mark Hughes’ men drew this drought to a close.

Jubilation at last for the Argentine maestro and City fans as well, while it could well be Ladbrokes customers throwing arms skyward in celebration next.

As Manuel Pellegrini’s side entertain Newcastle in the Premier League next, the bookmakers will be enhancing Aguero’s price to score first from 5/2 out to 7/2.

Incredibly, City have beaten their north-east counterparts the last 10 times they have faced them in the top flight, scribbling another massive tick in this bet’s positives column.

Naturally Aguero hasn’t been shy of getting in on the act. The Argentine scored in the return fixture to compliment David Silva’s opener at St James’ Park as the match finished 2-0 to the men in sky blue.

Aguero has now found the net in four of his six league appearances against the men in black-and-white stripes.

Case rested your honour.
