Take on the Professor: Bearded wonder out to continue cup run
He’s certainly lived up to his name in recent weeks, with The Professor swatting away challengers left, right and centre using his genius mathematical mind.
Four straight victories have seen our bearded marvel go on a bit of a run, rather apt with the FA Cup our latest port of call.
With our man in such strong form, there is a £100 free bet up for grabs if his latest challenger @xPlasticSoulx can cause an upset.
But in the mind of the man himself, The Professor won’t have to worry about the ridiculous superstition that is the ‘magic of the cup’, all that matters are cold, hard stats.
As usual, the format is simple. One point will be awarded for a correct result with three points for guessing the correct score.
Here are the predictions from The Professor and his latest challenger…
In a true act of generosity, The Professor has obliged to share some info behind a few of his predictions.
– They may have already seen off one Premier League side in this competition, but Blackburn’s record against Stoke is awful. They’ve lost six of their last seven competitive meetings, with the Potters keeping a clean sheet in five of those.
– Six of the last seven meetings between West Brom and West Ham have been draws, and with 2-2 the most common scoreline in the Baggies’ home ties this season, and the second-highest occurring outcome on the Hammers’ travels this campaign, it looks the logical pick.
– Arsenal are in great form at the Emirates of late, winning their last eight. They’ve netted 10 goals in their last three, but don’t expect them to have it their own way. Middlesbrough have only failed to find the net once in 2015.
Who knows? You could be the next fodder challenger for our fantastic footy brain!
