Young Boys v Everton: Swiss side to extend unbeaten run
Everton may be the slight favourites to win in Europe this week but the stats suggest the value could lie with Young Boys.
The Toffees travel to Bern as 11/8 favourites, with the draw on at 12/5 and Ladbrokes pricing the hosts as 19/10 outsiders, but having won their last seven home games in the competition the Swiss side will be a tough nut to crack.
Roberto Martinez’s side have won just one of their last five games away from Goodison Park so a home win looks like a solid pick.
However, there are a number of enticing picks for this match and Ladbrokes News has picked out three of the best.
Young Boys to win and BTTS @ 19/4
With Everton going into the game as favourites, having lost just one of their last five European road trips, expecting the hosts to win to nil might be a stretch too far.
Both sides have scored in all of Young Boys’ last six games so it could pay to take the longer odds in case Everton become the seventh side in a row to net against Uli Forte’s men.
Guillaume Hoarau to score first @ 13/2
Reunion-born Frenchman Hoarau has smashed 11 goals in 19 games so far this season and with five of those coming in the Europa League the 30-year-old clearly has a penchant for continental football.
And with four of his strikes opening games already this term this looks like a good price for him to repeat the trick in front of his own fans.
Renato Steffen to score anytime @ 31/10
While Hoarau has led from the front for Young Boys this season he has been ably assisted from the midfield thanks to eight goals in all competitions from Steffen.
The Swiss 23-year-old is in a rich vein of form too, scoring four goals in his last six outings, and looks set to give the Toffees back line a troubling time at the Stade de Suisse.
