Budget Buzzword Bingo: ‘Tough Decisions’ a stalwart Osbourne-ism

Published:

George Osbourne will shortly go before parliament to deliver what could be his final budget speech as Chancellor of the Exchequer, but before we get too excited, just what will David Cameron’s right-hand man be saying exactly?

Sure to be intently watching will be smokers and drinkers, though Ladbrokes customers should not miss out on the opportunity to profit from the man with the nation’s coffers at his disposal.

We’ve already given folk a little heads up over the soundbites which are likely to get some air time in Westminster, but if you haven’t checked out the expert analysis from Ladbrokes’ political expert Matthew Shaddick – listen to the below podcast before making your wagers.

The phrase that keeps on giving whenever Budget time swings around regardless of its proximity to a general election, is Hard Working Families, an absolute steal at evens money.

It’s been Osbourne’s Tory mantra since taking up residence next door to Cameron, and reared its head at the Autumn Statement as well.

Staying with the theme of Tory taglines, their austerity smokescreen Tough Decisions, a 6/4 shot, looks like printable money having been heard more frequently than Boris Johnson’s been pictured on a bicycle over the past five years.

Looking a little further down the list for some real profit turners, politics wouldn’t be politics without a jibe at the main opposition, so 6/1 on Labour’s Economic Mess will be hard to resist with an election just around the corner.
