Ladbrokes Poll: Robbie beats Zayn and Geri in shock exit stakes

Published:

One Direction fans may still be grieving over the departure of Zayn Malik from the group but when it comes to shock pop group exits, the 1D man has got nothing on Robbie Williams.

That is according to the results of the latest Ladbrokes News poll, which saw the former Take That man claim top spot for providing us with the most shocking walkout in the history of pop.

Quizzed on which was the most notable walkout in music history, fans voted the “Angels” singer’s sudden departure from the boyband as the most notable, with Williams claiming 42 per cent of the vote.

Geri Halliwell was a distant second, with Ginger Spice’s abrupt exit from the Spice Girls scoring 25 per cent of the vote.

She was just ahead of Malik, with the newly-departed One Directioner claiming 21 per cent of the vote following his untimely departure from the group.

One time Eternal member and long-time wife of ex-Liverpool and Tottenham star Jamie Redknapp came fourth, picking up a solid 12 per cent share after leaving the four-piece group.

There was little love for Westlife though, with Bryan McFadden’s surprise exit from the group scoring a big fat zero.

Evidently many felt the Louis Walsh-managed boyband had run their course by the time Kerry Katona’s ex-husband opted to call it a day.
