Price Boost: West Brom hotshot fine first scorer shout at Villa

Published:

Last season Saido Berahino caught the eye, thanks largely to a fast start. But, after the New Year festivities came to a close, the West Brom striker went stone cold.

Only two of his nine goals came after the turn of the year last season, despite the Burundi-born frontman making 19 appearances after the hectic festive period. He has had no such lull in 2015, though.

Berahino has matched his entire output of last term since the turn of the year this season, scoring nine times in 11 games to dispel any theories that he’s a streaky scorer.

Three of those nine strikes have come in his last four outings, putting him in red-hot form in time for a fierce local derby.

West Brom travel to Aston Villa with the chance of solidifying their Premier League status under Tony Pulis, with Berahino likely to be a key part of any success the Baggies gain at Villa Park.

Luckily for Ladbrokes customers, there is a chance to cash in on the England U21 international should he continue his scoring form, with the bookie boosting the price on Berahino scoring the game’s first goal from 11/2 to 13/2.

Only three of his seasonal haul have been deadlock breakers this season, but considering he notched the first, and only, goal of the game against Southampton last time out he should have a taste for the feat.

His chances are boosted by the fact that Aston Villa have allowed their opponents to bag first in 14 of their 27 league games this term, five of which have come at home.
