Spurs’ boy wonder 16/1 to grab the match ball on England debut

Tottenham’s Harry Kane bagged his first Premier League hat-trick against Leicester and now the clamour for the goal-scoring phenomenon to start for his country has grown deafening.

Kane’s 17th, 18th and 19th top-flight goals of the season saw him surpass Chelsea’s Diego Costa in the race for the Golden Boot, where he’s now the 6/4 favourite with Ladbrokes to land the prize.

Tottenham’s boy wonder was a 150/1 outsider at the beginning of the season.

There doesn’t seem to be a defence in the land able to cope with Kane’s appetite for goals and having been called up for England’s next Euro qualifier, the country is urging Roy Hodgson to unleash him against Lithuania.

Ladbrokes have now slashed Kane’s odds from 5/6 to just 2/5 to be handed a start on his England bow.

The bookmakers also offer tantalising odds that Kane nets himself a hat-trick to follow his maiden Premier League effort.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Many were calling for Kane to start before his hat-trick so there must now be little doubt Hodgson sticks with the man in form. Should he line up for kick off as expected, he’ll be all the rage to keep the goalscoring going.”

If Kane can terrorise some of the top defenders in the Premier League then Euro minnows Lithuania are sure to struggle with Kane in his current red-hot form.
