Rooney boosted to lead Man Utd to last-day glory at Hull

All eyes will be on the KC Stadium on the final day of the season, where Hull City host Manchester United in a vital relegation decider for the hosts.
Steve Bruce’s side need to beat the Red Devils and hope Newcastle lose or draw with West Ham at St James’ Park if they are to survive this term.
As United have little to play for themselves, with fourth-place secure and third out of reach, some might fancy the Tigers to grab three points at 9/4.
However, given Bruce’s desperate record against his former club, the better option is to take advantage of Ladbrokes’ generosity, and pile on the 3/1 (enhanced from 11/5) that Wayne Rooney nets in a United win.
Hull have lost each and every one of their seven matches against the Red Devils in the Premier League, and Bruce is yet to beat his former employers in 17 years and 21 attempts as a manager.
The Tigers have also famously never won a Premier League match in May, and they’ve lost six of their past eight games.
Rooney has been at the forefront of United’s repeated demolitions of Hull when the two sides have met.
The England skipper has scored a ridiculous seven goals in five games against Hull, including one tremendous four-goal haul back in 2010.
That record includes a goal in each of Rooney’s two trips to Humberside with United, with his strike last term helping his team recover from 2-0 down to claim a 3-2 victory.
Rooney missed United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal due to injury, but is due to return for the Hull match, and will likely lead the line given Radamel Falcao’s lacklustre display against the Gunners.
Despite playing in a deeper midfield role for much of the season, Rooney is the club’s top scorer with 14 in all competitions.
