Can Bournemouth fight off Rangers for former Man City prospect?

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe recently added Everton veteran Sylvain Distin to his playing squad but is still eyeing further targets.
The Cherries have reportedly agreed a club-record £40,000 per week deal to take Distin to Dean Court and former Manchester City prospect Abdisalam Ibrahim could be set to join him.
The Somalia-born Norway international made just one Premier League appearance for the Citizens during a seven-year stay at the Etihad but impressd at times on loan at Scunthorpe, Dutch top flight outfit NEC and Norwegian side Stromsgodset.
Ibrahim is currently tied to Olympiacos until 2017 but after making just one appearance for the Greek side last season is looking for first team opportunities elsewhere.
Still only 24-years-old Howe clearly feels the man once described as a “Patrick Vieira in the making” can make a name for himself in the top flight.
The Cherries boss is the only man with that opinion, however, with Watford and Rangers also said to be keen.
The Gers failed with a loan bid for Ibrahim in January but could return with a permanent deal this summer, but after missing out on promotion it is thought the player will shun a move to Ibrox in favour of another crack at the English top flight.
Howe has already been busy this transfer window, bringing in goalkeepers Artur Boruc and Adam Federici, Chelsea midfielder Christian Atsu on loan and Blackburn forward Josh King on a permanent deal.
Everton’s Luke Garbutt is expected to join on loan to continue learning from Distin and Birmingham’s Demarai Gray remains a top target.
Should Howe land all of his intended signings the Bournemouth’s 5/4 relegation odds could well drift before the opening day of the season.
