Euro U21 Championship: Kane boosted to score in an England win

Published:

Robbed of their most prolific striker from qualification, England’s U21s will be looking to another Premier League hotshot to kick-start their championships when they take on Sweden in game two.

Saido Berahino, scorer of 10 goals en-route to the Czech Republic, was forced to withdraw from Gareth Southgate’s squad before the Young Lions’ opening defeat to Portugal in Group B.

The loss of the West Brom star and indeed the first match has placed extra emphasis on Tottenham’s Harry Kane to provide the goals which can help prevent a premature exit.

Having beaten Italy 2-1 in their curtain raiser, the Swedish will provide a another stern test, although having gone the whole way through qualification without tasting defeat (W9 D1), Southgate’s side are well equipped to get the win they crave.

Indeed Ladbrokes rate England’s chances of three points as short as 4/5, with their Group B counterparts at 7/2 and the draw in the middle at 13/5.

Kane is certain to be integral to their hopes in Berahino’s absence and Spurs’ 30-goal man of last season is not a stranger to finding the net.

Luckily for Ladbrokes customers the bookmakers are enhancing the subject of Manchester United’s interest to score against Sweden as part of an England victory.

Kane to score and England to win will be boosted from 11/8 out to 2/1 from 8.00am on the day of the game.

Although England drew a blank against Portugal they still managed six shots on target and 22 overall which bodes well for their next match up and this bet.
