Meet the unlikely man set to replace David de Gea at Man United

The list of goalkeepers linked with replacing David de Gea is pretty short, with Hugo Lloris, Petr Cech and Asmir Begovich accepted as the top three contenders.

According to the betting, Begovic and Cech are both even money shots to sign up at Old Trafford this summer, while Tottenham stopper Lloris can be backed at 2/1 to make the move to the north-west.

However, Louis van Gaal could be set to throw a curveball with reports suggesting a bid for Galatasary stopper Fernando Muslera is in the offing.

A Daily Star article suggests Van Gaal is resigned to losing De Gea to Real Madrid and feels the £15m it would cost to lure Muslera from Turkey would prove great value.

Former Lazio number one Muslera has played more than 100 times for the Turkish giants since leaving the Stadio Olimpico in 2011 and has picked up some serious silverware in that time.

The 28-year-old has lifted three Super Liga trophies, two Turkish Cups and two Turkish Super Cups to add to the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana he won with the Romans.

The Uruguay international, 28,  kept 11 clean sheets for Gala last season  including a strong finish to the campaign which saw him perform five consecutive shutouts as Cincon wrapped up a 20th league title.

Muslera is under contract at the Turk Telecom Arena until 2018 but the chance to make a £10m profit on the player could prove too good to turn down for a club that flirted with bankruptcy just two years ago.

Ladbrokes have suspended betting on De Gea joining Madrid so Van Gaal is looking likely to have to go shopping this summer.

And if these reports are to be believed the Dutchman will shun the Premier League shopping mall in favour a bargain at the Turkish bazaar.
