Cole isn’t the only friend that new Leicester boss wants reunited

We all know that Claudio Ranieri likes to surround himself with familiar faces. He even spent £8m to bring Liverpool flop Mohamed Sissoko to Juventus, having previously worked with him at Valencia.
To be fair, in his early managerial career, he more successfully took the Uruguayan forward Daniel Fonseca with him from Cagliari to Napoli. And, truth be told, you can’t blame him. Given the number of players Claudio gets through in the average season, some familiarity must help when trying to remember their names.
His first signings at Leicester could be, true to type, more familiar faces. In addition to rumours of a reunion with his Chelsea “lion” Carlton Cole, who was recently released by West Ham, they are linked with Marcel Tisserand, a youth teamer from Claudio’s time at Monaco.
Tisserand was born in France but, due to his mother’s nationality, has represented Congo DR at U19 and U20 level, the latter as captain. He is over 6ft and can play anywhere along the back four or just in front. He spent last season on loan at Toulouse where he made 21 Ligue 1 appearances in a variety of positions.
If he signs for the Foxes (and it could be on loan), Tisserand will become the 11th Frenchman to play for Leicester: a big box of Walkers to anyone who can name the other 10 without Google.

In a strong indicate that this move is likely to happen, Tisserand’s agent is already describing cuddly Claudio as a “father” to his client. The player should provide welcome competition at right back to the erm, exuberant Danny Simpson and the still rather raw Ritchie De Laet.
And if Tisserand fancies another move in a few months, he will be pleased to learn that Ranieri is 16/1 to be the first Premier League manager out the door in 2015/16.
