French veteran sending former Queen’s champ to Wimbledon exit

| 03.07.2015

The middle Sunday break at Wimbledon fast approaches, which means there is precious little time to bulge the betting coffers for the business end of the tournament.

Luckily, the guys here at Ladbrokes have the best bets for Friday’s play well scouted, with a treble of around 19/1 tipped below:

Coco Vandeweghe to beat Samantha Stosur @ 4/5

America’s Vandeweghe has already sent 11th seed Karolina Pliskova packing in SW19, so shouldn’t have a problem beating the 22nd-seed, who she holds a favourable head-to-head record against.

The 23-year-old New Yorker has won two of the three meetings she’s had against Stosur, beating her in straight sets at this year’s Australian Open most recently.

Stosur has never made it beyond the third round at Wimbledon in her career either.

Richard Gasquet to beat Grigor Dimitrov @ 6/5

Taking an outsider’s price on a player that has never lost against his next opponent is a no brainer, even if the pair are yet to met on grass.

Dimitrov is a Queen’s Club champion and knocked Andy Murray out of this tournament in the past, but needed two tie breaks to get past world 52 Steve Johnson in the last round.

Gasquet, on the other hand, is yet to let an opponent win more than three games during his time in London and has won all four meetings with the Bulgarian.

Aleksandra Krunic to beat Venus Williams @ 4/1

The Williams sisters’ dream of facing each other in the fourth round won’t be realised unfortunately, as Serbian world number 82 Krunic is set for a huge upset.

The 22-year-old struck eight aces and an impressive 59 winners in defeating Sara Errani in three sets in the last round and could use her superior movement to defeat the 35-year-old elder Williams, who was far from fluid in beating Yulia Putintseva 7-6, 6-4.
