Lucky 15: Dettori and Gosden double act set to shine at Goodwood

The start of this flat season was all about two men John Gosden and Frankie Dettori. From the Musidora, to the Derby, to the Prix de Diane, to the Eclipse, the team have had a season to remember.
That being said, they are yet to team up for a success at this year’s Glorious Goodwood, but hopefully for us, that is all about to change.
We’ve put together this little Lucky 15 for the day three action in Sussex, and the duo are tipped to start us off with a flyer.

For a race with such a big field, it would perhaps be tempting to seek out a big price but with seven of the last eight winners returning single figure prices it pays to follow the fancied types.

He showed a good turn of foot in that race at Newmarket, will appreciate the drying ground on the Sussex Downs, and can looks capable of defying a penalty to bag a hat-trick.
A drift to his left when stand-in jockey Robert Havlin administered a couple of reminders at HQ suggest that he was green and has plenty more learning to do, but with that experience under his belt can only get better.
We’ve already made the case as to why the Ascot Gold Cup winner fits the bill in Thursday’s staying contest, but we’ll indulge you again.
Ed Dunlop’s charge is only one of two horses in the field to have even placed at the top level, and despite a 4lb penalty can strike again dropped down into this Group 2 contest.
Throw in that his three market rivals have not won over this 2m trip and his stamina can leave the others in their wake and become the first horse since Yeats to win this race and the Ascot contest in the same year.
William Haggas’ filly looked a little outpaced behind Jordan Princess at Newmarket last time out and was staying on strongly at the finish.
That being said, the extra 2f look likely to suit her more than her HQ conqueror, especially when you consider Luca Cumani’s charge hasn’t raced over this trip in her career.
Our selection only found the ultra-game Missunited too good in this race last year, and according to official ratings has improved 14lbs since then.
With a nice blend of speed and stamina, the four-year-old can round off our multiple in good style.
