How QPR should spend their bonus £9m Sterling bounty
Published:
It’s not just Liverpool that are making a pretty penny out of the Raheem Sterling saga coming to a long awaited end.
QPR stand to make around £9m from the England man’s much talked about move from Liverpool to Manchester City, thanks to the sell-on clause the Londoners insisted upon when the Reds nicked their young prodigy back in 2012.
With the 20-year-old edging ever closer to a £49m move to the Etihad, the Hoops are all of a sudden staring at quite a transfer bounty.
But how should the 16/1 Championship title outsiders spend it? Here are three options:
Rudy Gestede

£5m is the fee being bandied about in the numerous rumours linking the Benin striker with a top-flight switch, although the likes of Norwich and Watford wouldn’t be able to match QPR with the amount of wages they could offer.
Vlad Chiriches

With the Lilywhites landing Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer in Chiriches’ position this summer, a move away from White Hart Lane looks certain.
Loftus Road would be the perfect landing spot, where a space as Steven Caulker’s regular defensive partner is definitely up for grabs following Richard Dunne and Rio Ferdinand’s departure.
Jesse Lingard

All four of the clubs the 22-year-old played for in that time were in the Championship and, although each came with a varying degree of success, the youngster would definitely bolster the Hoops’ attacking-midfield ranks now that Adel Taarabt has left.
