Ladbrokes Premiership: Hearts great value to top score this weekend

Published:

After being held to a shock 2-2 draw by struggling  Kilmarnock in the week Celtic are expected to come out swinging when they entertain Inverness this weekend.

That is according to the Ladbrokes traders, who have priced the Bhoys up as the heavy favourites to be top scorers in the Premiership this weekend at 8/5.

The Hoops v Caley match is also the 5/2 jolly to be the highest scoring tie of the weekend in the top flight but at the odds it’s clear to see the league sponsors don’t see Thistle chipping in with too many.

The visitors are the 66/1 rank outsiders to top the scoring charts and unless John Hughes’ side can put in a vastly-improved performance than they have mustered so far this campaign they are unlikely to live up to the their headline-prompting forbearers and bother Craig Gordon too often.

However, while Celtic are the favourites there could be some value in backing surprise league leaders Hearts, who are available at a distant 9/1 to be the highest scoring Prem team of the weekend.

The Jambos netted four goals in their League Cup season opener with Arbroath and repeated the feat on their top flight return by smashing four past St Johnstone.

The 2-1 win over Dundee and 2-0 victory against Motherwell in the week make it a total of 12 strikes in four games.

Much of this is down to Spanish dark horse Juanma who has hit the ground running in his Tynecastle career with three goals in his opening two games.

Taking this into account, the 5/1 on The Jam Tarts’ visit to Ross County being the highest scoring game at 5/1 also looks a tempting shout.

County have conceded seven goals in their last five fixture,s dating back to pre-season, and while they have settled since their opening day defeat to Celtic they do not seem up to Hearts’ pace yet.
