Leeds are the people’s pick for Challenge Cup glory

Sincere apologies to fans of Hull Kingston Rovers but it’s your opponents who have been backed by the majority of voters to lift the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup at Wembley this weekend.

Yes, Leeds Rhinos have come out on top in our poll to gauge who the public think will emerge victorious at Wembley.

A sizeable 72 per cent of voters plumped for the current holders as they look to secure a 13th Challenge Cup win at the expense of their Yorkshire rivals.

That’s not perhaps surprising given the fact that Brian McDermott’s Super League leaders have already beaten KR twice already this season and look in ominous form ahead of this latest clash.

But maybe we shouldn’t be too quick to write-off 1980 winners Rovers.

The influential Albert Kelly is set to make his first appearance since injuring his knee in the Red and Whites’ semi-final victory while Chris Chester’s side can point to wins over Wigan and Warrington in this season’s competition as reason enough to be confident.

However, despite those positives, Ladbrokes News readers have already made their minds up and they can’t see past a Rhinos victory tomorrow afternoon.
