Twitter reacts to Jermain Defoe’s rather detailed job vacancy
Jermain Defoe is a man with a vision. As he looks to balance helping Sunderland to Premier League safety with creating what looks like a global empire, he needs your help.
Well, sort of.
The Mackems striker has released a job specification for a role of 24/7 ‘Executive Personal Assistant’ to manage his life off the pitch, and it’s fair to say the demands are fairy varied.
For a cool £50k a year the lucky candidate will be required to undertake a wide variety of tasks from diary management to planning events for family birthdays.
You can see the full ad on the fantastically named ‘Secs in the City‘, but here are our five stand out responsibilities for us here at Ladbrokes News:
– Regularly checking the fridge is fully stocked and plants watered in Defoe’s home
– Organising a party on Bonfire Night
– Help create Jermain Defoe clothing line or fragrance
– Producing Defoe iPhone apps
– Selecting and organising wardrobes for special events
Now, it’s fair to say that the advert has caused a bit of a stir on social media.
On seeing Defoe’s name trending some thought some big reality TV news was about to break…

But once it became clear that the Sunderland man wouldn’t be showcasing his bolero any time soon, questions began to be asked as to what other responsibilities the job entailed…
@IAmJermainDefoe just read your demands for your PA/slave!!! Was wondering if at any point your bum needed wiping as well!!

It also hit home as to what it must be like in the Defoe household at the moment without anyone to make sure the family fridge is stocked and wardrobe organised…
That Jermain Defoe job advert is incredible. He must just sit in his pants all day waiting for someone to tell him what to do. — John (@stonesy10) August 24, 2015
Ultimately though, the idea of being PA for Defoe Enterprises Ltd brought about a clear vision of what the role would be like for some…

Now, with the deadline gone, all the applicants have to do is sit back and play the waiting game…
Oooh, I hope it’s Jermain Defoe. pic.twitter.com/qzvRwwyVZ2
