NFL Accumulator: Patriots headline 10/1 Week 2 selections

Published:

The second week of the NFL arrives, with one particular matchup catching the eye from the schedule.

New England’s trip to face the much-talked-about Buffalo Bills will provide an early test for two clubs with Super Bowl ambitions.

The Patriots are picked to win the clash in the below 10/1 accumulator:

Arizona Cardinals to beat Chicago Bears @ 10/13

The Bears had a five-win season 12 months ago and as a result have a new coaching team for the 2015 season. There were signs of improvement against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, but despite battling hard they came up short. That could be a theme this year.

Arizona bettered the New Orleans Saints in their opener, with QB Carson Palmer looking in fine touch in his first game back from a knee injury.

Atlanta Falcons to beat New York Giants @ 6/5

The Falcons impressed in edging past the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, looking a cohesive unit with the ball. They can play on the Giants’ uncertainty after New York declined an easy score late in their Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, only to see Tony Romo’s surge upfield for the win.

New England Patriots to beat Buffalo Bills @ 10/11

An opening-day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers did nothing to quieten the deflategate chatter surrounding New England, but this matchup is a genuine chance to focus on football.

The Bills are a much-hyped unit this season after heavy recruitment on and off the field, along with their 27-14 home win over Andrew Luck’s Colts last week, however the Super Bowl champs will be too strong.

St Louis Rams to beat Washington Redskins @ 10/17

Every NFL season has a laughing-stock side and the Redskins look a good bet to be 2015’s. They went scoreless in the second half in defeat to the Dolphins in their opener and are without DeSean Jackson at wide receiver.

QB Kirk Cousins is getting little protection at the moment and the Rams, who beat Seattle Seahawks in OT last week, can enjoy their visit to FedEx Field.
