WATCH: ‘Winning the battle’ key to Clyde’s promotion hopes

If you want to be successful in Ladbrokes Scottish League 2 then the one thing you need to do is ‘win the battle’.

That’s the attitude Clyde manager Barry Ferguson has been busy instilling into his players.

Speaking on Peter and Roughie’s Football Show, Ferguson reflected on the learning curve he’s had to negotiate since taking over the reins at Broadwood as well as the lessons he’s taken from his early steps into management.

The Bully Wee finished a disappointing sixth in the ex-Rangers and Scotland midfielder’s first season in charge.

And having been installed as the bookies’ pre-season favourites once again the same high expectations remain.

But this time round Ferguson feels that he now has the right tools to get out of the division.

“I now know what’s needed to get out of League 2 and it’s not pretty football” he told the programme.

Clyde travel to face struggling Arbroath this weekend, a match they’re 5/4 favourites to win with their hosts 19/10 to record their first league victory.
