A host of mid-season NFL bets to boost the coffers

Published:

The NFL season is cranking towards the halfway marker and there are still five teams that possess sparkling, undefeated 6-0 records. That’s the most since 1970.

With so many teams playing so well, there’s also the 6-1 Atlanta Falcons to consider, picking a Super Bowl winner has never been tougher through seven weeks of the season.

Instead, getting creative with some seasonal bets could be a far more lucrative strategy and three of Ladbrokes News’ favourite angles are listed below:

New England Patriots to win over 13.5 matches @ 4/7

The Patriots came out as seven-point winners over the New York Jets to move on to a 6-0 record and add intrigue to this bet.

With 10 games left in the regular season, overs backers can afford two New England losses and still reach the promised land. Tom Brady and company have three games remaining against sides with a record above .500, but one of those is a rematch against the Jets, who they just beat.

Eli Manning to throw more passing yards than Matthew Stafford @ 11/10

Detroit Lions QB Stafford currently leads this matchup and is therefore the 8/11 favourite. However the Lions are a dire team this season and own the league’s equal-worst record.

As a result of their 1-6 start, the team have changed both their offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. With new, inexperienced, men calling the plays (delightfully-named new OC Jim Bob Cooter has never been in this role before) there really isn’t telling how their future pans out, especially with a difficult schedule.

Denver Broncos to score under 380.5 points @ 10/11

Yes the Broncos join the Patriots in the five-strong group of NFL teams with perfect 6-0 records, but they are anything but the offensive-force of old.

A 39-year-old Peyton Manning is starting to show his age in his 18th season and is performing way below his God-like usual standards.

Unsurprisingly then, the Broncos’ offence is struggling. Their 139 total-points tally is the joint-seventh worst in the NFL and it looks a terribly long road for the team to reach the 381 that will down this bet.
