David Cameron’s ‘security’ your safest bet as Ladbrokes’ Buzzword Bingo returns

As the Prime Minister puts the finishing touches to his Conservative Conference Speech in Manchester this week, so too have Ladbrokes collated the latest batch of the ever-popular Buzzword Bingo nominees.
It hasn’t been the easiest time for the Conservatives this week, with anti-austerity protesters proving somewhat hostile in a spate of public incidents.
With the on-going refugee crisis, in addition to the Home Secretary Theresa May again voicing calls for tighter limits on mass migration, it is little surprise that Cameron is just 1/10 to say ‘Security’ during his speech.
Following Jeremy Corbyn’s latest declaration on his stance on the Trident renewal last week, the current PM is just 1/5 to mention ‘Trident’ when he takes to the stand at Manchester Central.
‘Refugees’ at 1/3 is also unlikely to attract too much value, while Ladbrokes are 1/4 Cameron brings out the term ‘Northern Powerhouse’ to his Manchester audience.
Given the publicised issues between the Conservative Party and protesters this week, the evens price on ‘Austerity’ is worth much more consideration.
Further value could well be had with ‘Hard Working Families’ at 6/4 as Cameron tries to ward off opposition to looming tax credit cuts. ‘Tough Decisions’ – 2/1 with Ladbrokes – could also be a popular term for both the PM and shrewd backers.
Somewhat understandable, ‘Ashcroft’ is the long outsider at 12/1, while ‘Pig’ is a 5/1 price, though it seems unlikely Cameron will take his speech in that direction.
Better outside shots are ‘New Kind of Politics’ at 3/1 and ‘Twitter’ at 5/1.
Cameron wrote a strongly worded Tweet upon hearing the news of Corbyn’s Labour victory last month, and should the PM head towards the Twittersphere in his speech, he may well repeat his social media statement with ‘You Can’t Trust Labour’ at 5/1.
