Irish legends lead crushing win over Scotland in Mix n Match XI

It’s D-day in Group D of the Euro 2016 qualifiers, as the international break hands both Republic of Ireland and, more slimly, Scotland the chance to book spots in France and the nail-biting playoffs respectively.
Martin O’Neill’s Republic are in pole position as far as the two home nations are concerned, sat in third place in the Group. However, both Germany and Poland have a better chance of finishing in the group’s top two, thus qualifying automatically for the summer’s festivities.
If either of those were to slip up, then its feasible that both nations could book a spot at Euro 2016.
ROI need to beat both Germany and Poland in order to jump into the top two and, should that happen, Scotland would finish third with wins against the Polish and Gibraltar.
In reality, however, only one of the pair will keep their major-tournament hopes alive, likely to be Ireland through the playoff route.

After mangling the two 23s together it seems that Ireland’s positition ahead of the Scots is justified, with seven representatives in our combined XI to four from Gordon Strachan’s side.
It’s up front where the Green Army really make their quality count, with Robbie Keane, Wes Hoolahan and Jon Walters filling the three-pronged attack.
Seamus Coleman, John O’Shea and Robbie Brady all flood the backline, with Scott Brown and Steven Naismith the Scottish representatives in midfield.
