Ladbrokes Premiership: Aberdeen to stop the rot against Motherwell

Published:

Having lost four games in a row and being humbled 3-1 by Molde respectively, Aberdeen and Celtic will be hopeful of an immediate upturn when the Ladbrokes Premiership resumes this weekend.

Fortunately for the Dons, the visitors to Pittodrie this weekend are a Motherwell side desperately short of wins, while the Bhoys, who top the table, welcome bottom side Dundee United to Parkhead.

Away wins look as though they could be hard to come by this weekend so those tempted to place an acca are advised to go home.

Here are the best bets from the top flight this weekend.

Aberdeen v Motherwell

The Dons’ record breaking start is now a distant memory, with the Pittodrie outfit having lost four successive matches. Chances to arrest that form don’t come much better than a home game against a Motherwell side with just two wins from their last 12 outings. Derek McInnes’ men have won the last four meetings and should remind themselves of that winning feeling here.
Best Bet: Aberdeen to win @ 2/5

Dundee v Kilmarnock

Killie have won just one of their last four matches but with that victory being a 2-0 win over Inverness there will be plenty tempted to back an away win at Dens Park. However, with Dundee losing just one of their last six and winning three of the last four meetings with Gary Locke’s men the hosts have to be the pick.
Best Bet: Dundee to win @17/20

Hearts v Ross County

Having lost just one of their last four games County are flying high this season and two weeks ago would have been the pick in this tie. However, Hearts ended their five-game winless run in the league last timeout and will be confident of building on the 1-0 win over Dundee United given their record against the Staggies. Jim McIntyre’s men have tasted victory just once in 12 clashes with he Jambos.
Best Bet: Hearts to win @ 5/4

Inverness CT v St. Johnstone

Both sides saw three-game win streaks ended last time out, with defeats to Killie and Patrick respectively and while both sides will obviously be hankering for three points a share of the spoils might be the best either can hope for. With one win apiece in the last four games and the most recent two clashes ending all square Caley and the Saints look set to cancel each other out.
Best Bet: Draw @ 23/10

Partick Thistle v Hamilton

Partick’s woeful start to the season, 10 games without a win in all competitions, looks to be behind them. David Beattie’s men made it back-to-back wins with the 2-1 victory over St Johnstone, while Hamilton have failed to win their last two.

The Accies have gone four games without a win in meetings with Thistle and could be the next team swatted aside in the Partick revolution.
Best Bet: Partick to win @ 13/10

Celtic v Dundee United

The Bhoys may have been humbled in Norway midweek but a game against hapless United could be the perfect tonic this weekend. Striker Kris Commons hit the headlines for his outburst after being subbed against Molde but the forward has issued a full apology and should start.

With the Hoops unattractively priced at 2/11 to claim all three points, backing Commons to star in this tie could be the way to go.
Best Bet: Commons to score and Celtic to win @ 4/5
