Newcastle, Chelsea and Swansea managers next in line for the sack

Tim Sherwood’s dismissal from Aston Villa saw him become the third Premier League manager to leave their post this season, following Dick Advocaat and Brendan Rodgers.
Tactics Tim left the Villans 19th in the table, going bottom by the end of the weekend after a run of six consecutive losses.
His sacking won’t have been a surprise, as he was a front runner in the sack race for much of the season. Now there are other managers who need to be wary.
Here are the bosses who find themselves leading the way in a race nobody wants to win:
Steve McClaren
The 6-2 win over Norwich City looked to be a turning point for Newcastle United, but a 3-0 loss in the Tyne-Wear derby sees them come crashing back down to earth.
That was the Magpies sixth loss of the season, and they have conceded 11 goals in three games as they fall to 19th in the table.
Pressure will continue to mount on McClaren, and failing to pick up points in their next two matches, winnable ties against Stoke and Bournemouth, could see the 54-year-old headed for the exit door.
Jose Mourinho
The 2-1 loss to West Ham was Chelsea’s fifth league defeat of the season, and the Premier League champions are now eleven points behind leaders Manchester City.
A win in the Blues next home game against Liverpool could be enough to earn a reprieve for the Portuguese boss, but a loss would likely lead to an abrupt end to his second spell at Stamford Bridge.
Garry Monk
The Swansea boss was touted as a potential successor to Sherwood, but talk of his move to Villa Park has since died down.
A poor run of form could easily see the Swans slip in to a relegation fight, and clashes with Arsenal and Liverpool in the next month will prove tough, so sacking a manager who was already linked with a move away will be an easy decision for those in charge.
