Lauren or 4th Impact the most vulnerable next X Factor eliminations

It was pretty clear during the first four weeks of X Factor live shows that some acts were given preferential treatment to ensure they stuck around until the latter stages, while others were far less supported in the hope of engineering an early exit.

With Mason Noise and Anton Stephens leaving in the last of the double eliminations, we have now reached the stage where all of the seeming targets have been sent home.

This makes it fairly tough to predict which of the remaining five acts will fail to make the X Factor semi-finals.

What we do know is that Louisa Johnson is clearly the act that the producers are pushing for victory, while Reggie n Bollie have already been name-checked as potential finalists.

This would help ensure some entertainment is provided in the final and it is unlikely that they will garner a big enough share of votes to challenge Louisa, especially if given a slower song for the first time to showcase their largely limited vocals.

Che would be the logical third finalist on the premise that he also wouldn’t threaten the Louisa vote and appears the most likely to be able to entice Adele into a duet, which would bring much-coveted publicity.

This leaves Lauren Murray and 4th Impact as the two acts best placed to battle Louisa for victory and so expect to see efforts from the show to dampen their popularity.

Lauren is an obvious threat being in the same category as Louisa and so there will be some crossover in the pool of votes they are fishing in.

Meanwhile, we mentioned earlier in the series that it was possible to vote from overseas using the X Factor app and it is hard to know exactly how much support 4th Impact are garnering from the Philippines and even the continent of Asia as a whole.

The song choices of both for the quarter-final look to have the possibility of criticism, with the girl band singing a rare slow song with I’ll Be There and a Gwen Stefani/Iggy Azalea mash-up that doesn’t suggest it will be a vote hoarder.

Interestingly for Lauren, she is performing You Don’t Own Me by Grace, which is a track that the public decided against her singing as part of their Jukebox choice and hasn’t been released in the UK, which means the majority of viewers will never have heard of it.

The gut feeling is that Lauren is the more popular of the pair, so it will be harder to drag her into the sing-off but, if she is in the bottom two, the show will be keener to get rid of her as the bigger threat to Louisa’s prospects of winning.

Lauren is 2/1 to be the X Factor act eliminated in the quarter finals.
