Now is the time to back Hillary Clinton to be next US President

You can still back Hillary Clinton to win the 2016 US Presidential Election at 4/5 with Ladbrokes, and the way the Republicans are carrying on with only a couple of months left until Primary Season starts, that’s beginning to look like free money.
Few punters or pundits see anyone but Hillary emerging from the Democratic crop – despite 74-year-old Bernie Sanders clearly touching a nerve with young people, the American version of Jeremy Corbyn is a top-price 16/1 with Ladbrokes to set up home at the White House in January 2017.
Sanders is still rated the most likely Hillary alternative though, with the Junior Senator from Vermont next in the betting behind the 1/10 favourite for the Democratic nomination at 6/1, then it’s all the way back to former Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley at 100/1. Nobody else warrants a quote.
The Clintons clearly aren’t every American’s cup of tea, but after seven years of Barack Obama dominating the Democratic scene and no candidate coming through from the Vice-Presidency, the former Secretary of State, Senator and First Lady is clearly the most qualified applicant.
She took defeat against Obama with just enough grace to get another shot at the title, and the appeal of a first woman candidate will be strong among the blue side, especially after the ‘change’ election that swept the current President to power seven years ago.
The GOP may choose their own ‘change’ candidate from Latin American pair Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz, priced at 6/4 favourite and 6/1 respectively to win the Republican nomination, but after the dreadful escapades of Donald Trump during this race, and to a slightly lesser extent Ben Carson, whoever emerges has a tough task ahead.
Trump is 5/2 second favourite to win the GOP nomination and still polling strongly in Iowa, despite firing off constant vicious personal attacks since announcing his candidacy, lately on a physically disabled journalist.
What kind of Republican Party will be left over after Trump has finished making his point? The 69-year-old is 6/1 to win the Presidency, but Americans won’t let that happen.
There’s one runner in the field who could potentially patch the GOP back together in time to give Hillary a run for her money, and that is, of course, Jeb Bush.
His bid to emulate father and brother hasn’t gone according to plan so far, but 20/1 Bush would be a genuine contender in a one-on-one for the top job. Unfortunately for him, it seems the Republicans have other ideas.
