Everton v Crystal Palace: Goals to help forget about G Nev

| 07.12.2015

When Alan Pardew takes his Crystal Palace side to Goodison Park looking for the win over Everton that could move his side closer to the top six, there will be one storyline dominating the evening. What will Monday Night Football be like without Gary Neville.

The game will be Sky Sports’ first without their marquee pundit analysing the game and much will be made of how Jamie Carragher steps up to fill his former colleague’s shoes.

On the pitch however, the two teams have the potential to overshadow Neville’s absence entirely.

With Roberto Martinez’s excelling at home this season in dominating possession and Pardew’s boys executing their counter-attacking style far better on the road, this has all the ingredients to be an action-packed encounter.

Ladbrokes make the hosts the 1/1 favourites, with Palace priced up at 13/5 and the draw available at just a point less than that.

However, it’s the goals markets that should get the first examination when searching for a bet on the game, especially as Everton are the home side.

The Toffees have seen the second-most total goals in their games this term, behind Leicester, and are also second in the same department at home.

League games at Goodison this term average 3.86 goals per outing and it’s 8/11 that the Palace battle soars over the 2.5 total goals line.

The Eagles haven’t been quite as a reliable source of scoring action on the road this term, averaging 2.17 goals per game away from home thus far, but have provided the entertainment in recent visits to play Everton.

Both of their previous two trips to the blue half of Merseyside have ended in 3-2 wins and it’s a lofty 28/1 that the latest meeting follows suit.

Of course, it wouldn’t be right if Ladbrokes let the event pass by without a special offer and they duly oblige in that department with the below two:

Lukaku to score and Everton to win WAS 2/1 NOW 3/1
