Ladbrokes Premiership: Celtic and Dons pull away from the pack

It was either joy or despair in the Ladbrokes Premiership this weekend, with not a single fixture ending in a draw, with Aberdeen taking the headlines in Saturday’s lunch-time contest with Hearts.
Derek McInnes’ men are maintaining the pressure on league-leaders Celtic, who confidently swept in-form St Johnstone aside on Sunday afternoon.
Elsewhere Partick continued their fine run, while Ross County got back to winning ways too.

Hearts’ Jordan McGhee became the inadvertent villain at Pittodrie in a finely-closed contest between two of the top three at Aberdeen.
Entering the final moments, 19-year-old McGhee inexplicably handled the ball in the area. Adam Rooney dispatched his 12th goal of the season from the spot to hand Dons the points and move them seven clear of the Edinburgh side.
Aberdeen’s win moved them to just a point behind Celtic, but the Bhoys reasserted their four-point advantage at St Johnstone.
Nadir Ciftci handed Ronny Deila’s men a first-half lead, before Dedryck Boyata’s effort shortly after half-time all but ended the contest at McDiarmid Park.
Ciftci grabbed himself a second just after the hour to end Saints’ six-game unbeaten run.
The results have made little impact on the title odds, with Celtic clear favourites at 1/100 while Aberdeen are now 20/1 from 22s on Friday.
Ross County regained that winning feeling with a 3-1 victory at Hamilton, moving above Accies to fifth in the process.
Gramoz Kurtaj put the hosts into a first-half lead at New Douglas Park, but a trio of second half Staggies goals ensured County claim just a third league win in nine games.
Kris Doolan proved the difference for Partick, who picked up a third-straight win at the expense of table-propping Dundee United, while an Ian Vigurs first-half brace was enough for Inverness to consign Kilmarnock to a sixth game without a win in a 2-1 victory for Caley in the Highlands.
Finally, Motherwell jumped above Killie into 10th after a 3-1 result over Dundee.
Well were 2-0 up at the break thanks to Scott McDonald and Louis Moult, while Stephen Pearson’s injury-time effort cancelled out Gary Harkin’s glimmer of Dundee hope.
