Strictly week 11: Can anyone stop Jay claiming the Glitterball trophy?

Published:

We’re down to the final five and on reflection you have to say that the remaining contestants are each worthy of their place in the Strictly Come Dancing semi-finals.

Jay McGuiness, Georgia May Foote, Anita Rani, Katie Derham and Kellie Bright will take to the stage for a place in the final next weekend.

And the bookies seem to have made their minds up as to who will win this year’s competition and in what order our remaining quintet will finish.

Have they got it right?

Jay is out in front but who will fill the places behind him?

Musical Week briefly threatened to throw a large spanner in the works when it was announced that Georgia was in the bottom two.

But once the mild shock subsided it was business as usual as the Coronation Street actress proceeded to book her place in the semi-finals at the expense of Helen George.

In truth Strictly 2015 has been a pretty predictable affair and the current odds reflect that trend.

Having topped the Leaderboard once again, Jay is just 1/3 to win the competition.

And even the race to finish in the top three seems pretty cut and dried.

Georgia is 2/5, Anita is 4/7 while Katie is an even money shot and outsider Kellie is 9/4 to make the podium.

It’s difficult to see anyone threatening Jay, or indeed Georgia despite her appearance in the dance-off, at the top of the market.

However, Week 11 wasn’t Anita’s strongest so she’s certainly worth taking on.

Kellie appears to have plenty of support from the Great British Public™ while Katie and dance partner Anton du Beke have slowly crept into contention.
