Which Premier League clubs are getting in the Christmas spirit?

Once again the year has flown by and the festive season is upon us already and Premier League clubs have been busy doing their bit for their local communities and charities.

Football often courts a bad press but teams up and down the country are trying to give a little something back with a range of initiatives over the holiday period.

We’ve taken a little look at some of the Premier League outfits making a bid to help others…

Man City

Santa is turning sky blue again for Man City’s sixth annual Santa Stroll this weekend with proceeds going to vulnerable people in the Manchester area.

The event has been a big success and has grown in recent years. A fun-filled day features a host of activities for all the family as well as a 5k Santa dash.

Arsenal

You can expect to see a lot of people wearing Arsenal’s Christmas Jumper in north London this winter.

We’re pretty sure Arsene Wenger would desperately love to actually name the snowman in his squad to shore up his central midfield, but for now he’ll just have to purchase a jumper like everyone else.

The club are donating 20% of each sale to the Arsenal Foundation and rumours are that the snowman’s nose might be based on Olivier Giroud…

Everton

Over in Merseyside Everton have launched a shoebox charity to aid people across the local area.

The Toffees have asked fans to get involved with the BlueCrimbo Blue Shoebox Appeal by filling shoeboxes with essential items to help those in need have a better Christmas this year.

Sunderland

Things were gloomy for Sunderland earlier this season, but Big Sam is on board and the Black Cats are fully in the Christmas spirit.

The Stadium of Light club are running a 12 days of Christmas competition, offering 12 prizes to fans who correctly text the answer of a question.

The cost of each text message will help aid the club’s charity arm – Foundation of Light – with their sport and education programmes in the north east.

Chelsea

Even Jose Mourinho and his troubled Blues won’t be Scrooges this Christmas.

The west Londoners held their latest Community Day this week, allowing young supporters to meet and hang out with their heroes.
