Ladbrokes Premiership: Ross County to down Dons

With Dundee United hosting Celtic on Friday night the focus will be elsewhere in the Ladbrokes Premiership this weekend with Sunday’s match between Ross County and Aberdeen potentially the headline tie.

The Staggies are in great form, especially at home but the Dons know anything other than a win is likely to leave them with a mountain to climb in order to catch the Bhoys.

There’s plenty of intrigue elsewhere in Scotland’s top flight and here’s all you need to know ahead of the weekend’s games…

Hearts v Motherwell

Hearts may well occupy a place in the top three but with just one win in five games Robbie Nielson’s men are low on confidence. Motherwell, on the other hand, are unbeaten in five, winning three of their last four and have lost to Hearts just once in seven meetings.

Best Bet: Motherwell to win @: 10/3

Kilmarnock v Inverness CT

Kilmarnock have failed to win any of their last five games at home, while Caley have lost just once on the road in as many attempts. With Killie winning just one of the last five meetings an away win appears most likely but with both sides scoring in three of those matches the Caley Jags might not have it all their own way.

Best Bet: Inverness to win and BTTS @ 10/3

Partick Thistle v Dundee

Thistle’s decent run of form came to and end when losing last time out and a return to winning ways might just have to wait when they welcome Dundee this weekend. The Dees have draw three of their last five on the road and with four of the last seven meetings ending all square a share of the spoils could be on the cards here.

Best Bet: Draw @ 23/10

St Johnstone v Hamilton Academical

Hamilton have lost four of their last five games but stopped the rot with a draw last time out. That respite is likely to prove short lived though with Saints winning the last two meetings and scoring four goals on each occasion.

Best Bet: Inverness CT -1 @ 13/5

Ross County v Aberdeen

Three wins and two draws show that Derek McInnes’ men are hard to beat even on an off day on current form. County will be confident of putting that theory to the test, however, after winning four of thier last five games as hosts. With the Dons winning just two of their last five on the road backing the home win could prove a shrewd move here.

Best Bet: Ross County to win @ 23/10
