Twitter goes mad for the Panthers and the Broncos

Destination San Francisco! The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos are heading to Super Bowl 50 following a night of epic drama across the pond.

The Cam Newton-inspired Panthers routed the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 to clinch the NFC Championship and the defending champions were sent packing with Peyton Manning’s Broncos beating the New England Patriots 20-18 to secure the AFC title.

And, as you’d expect, Twitter got a little bit excited about the action that unfolded and the prospect of a Newton v Manning showdown.

Here are a few of the highlights…

The NFL gave props to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his opposite number.

Meanwhile, Cam Newton was the talk of the Twittersphere with veteran broadcaster Larry King quick to offer his ‘two cents’.

Elsewhere, ESPN offered some food for thought.
