Another Chelsea flop set to rejoin Atletico Madrid

Published:

If any club has proven their willingness to take back former favourites in the last few years it’s Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone’s side already has Fernando Torres back in the famous red and white stripes after the Spaniard failed to find a permanent home following his Chelsea nightmare. Now he could be joined by fellow Blues flop Radamel Falcao.

Reports have emerged that the Colombian striker, who has managed just one goal since signing on loan from Monaco this term and hasn’t played for Chelsea since October 31, is in Madrid to try and finalise a loan switch.

The Stamford Bridge club are happy for Falcao, who also failed to show his true talent at Manchester United last season, to leave having sealed a loan of their own for Brazilian frontman Alexandre Pato.

They tried to send the 29-year-old back to the French club earlier in the winter transfer window, only for Monaco to refuse the deal on the basis of Falcao’s condition.

Now, the 63-cap international could be about to seal a return to the Rojiblancos, where he holds an incredible scoring record of 70 goals in 91 games from his first stint there.
