Celtic closing in on signing of Norwegian wonder kid

Celtic look to have beaten a host of other top European clubs to the signing of Norwegian wonder kid Kristoffer Ajer.
According to reports the Bhoys have agreed a fee with Norwegian side IK Start in a deal that will see the highly-rated midfielder move to Parkhead this summer.
The 17-year old is said to have impressed Bhoys manager Ronny Deila so much in a recent one-week trial at Lennoxtown that the teenager’s compatriot insisted a long-term deal be thrashed out for the midfielder.
Ajer recently represented Norway’s U19 against Portugal and told reporters after that there is just the matter of a medical and agreeing personal terms to be concluded before the move is confirmed.
“I travel down tomorrow and the clubs agree. So we will look at my appointment and the medical test. It is amazingly big for me,” he is quoted as saying.
Ajer was highly sought-after with a host of top European clubs running the rule over the teenager but it is believed Deila’s connection in his homeland saw the Hoops gaffer steal a march on his rivals.
The midfielder played 34 games for IK Start in 2015, scoring an impressive 12 goals as the Kristiansand-based club finished 14th in the Tippeligaen.
While Ajer will arrive in the summer Deila has more pressing matters at hand as Celtic look to retain their Ladbrokes Premiership title.
The Bhoys can capitalise on Aberdeen’s recent loss to Inverness by beating the same opponents next up in the league and at 1/6 to claim all three points Deila’s men can take a giant step toward keeping their crown.
