St. Helens can finally end their Hull KR away hoodoo

Coach-less Hull KR will be hoping home advantage is crucial when they face St Helens in tonight’s Super League encounter.
After losing at home to Wakefield last weekend, Hull KR announced head coach Chris Chester was ‘stood down’ from his role on Wednesday, with his assistant Willie Poching taking over the reins for this evening’s game.
His first task will be to lead the Robins against a St Helens side that has had a hit and miss start to the season, with a victory and a defeat in their opening two Super League games followed by a crushing 38-12 drubbing by Sydney Roosters in the World Club Series.
Following that bruising defeat, Saints are boosted by the return of inspirational hooker James Roby and also welcome back full-back Shannon McDonnell to their 19-man squad; a well-needed and timely addition given their struggles in that position.
And with Hull KR missing key players – most notably Shaun Lunt and Terry Campese – on paper St Helens should have the class to turn around their questionable form and cover the -12 handicap at 10/11.
However, the KC Lightstream Stadium is far from a happy hunting ground for Saints, who haven’t won there since 2008, losing seven and drawing one of their last eight clashes on Hull KR’s turf.
Of those Rovers victories, five of the last six have been by eight points or less, and Hull KR can be backed at 5/1 to win by 1-10 points.
Hull KR’s caretaker coach Willie Poching will be hoping the notoriously vociferous Rovers home support can help his side continue that impressive record against the visitors.
