Diego Costa primed to hit back at ‘fraud’ jibes in style for Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain went to new lengths to rile up their next opponents when labelling Chelsea striker Diego Costa a ‘fraud’ in the build up to their Champions League last-16 tie.

Les Parisiens’ Twitter account posted a vine of various superheroes, as well as the Blues forward, and asked followers to ‘Spot the fraud’.

That could come back to haunt them if Costa proves the exact opposite on Wednesday night in west London and scores for the home side.

Ladbrokes make it a 3/1 chance that the Spanish hitman finds the back of the net en route to helping his side overcome a 2-1 first-leg deficit at Stamford Bridge.

Installed as 33/20 favourites, things haven’t been quite as straightforward in recent weeks as they were earlier in the season for the French side.

Laurent Blanc’s men have won three of their last six games – hardly terrible form – but when you consider they won 17 on the bounce before that, it is some comedown.

Throw in that they have come out on top in just three of their last nine away fixtures in the Champions League, losing and drawing two visits to the Bridge in the process and the tie looks far from over.

Guus Hiddink’s men looked to have turned a corner this season, with their defeat in Paris the only loss since the Dutchman took over.

That can partly be attributed to the fact that Costa seems to have found his shooting boots, netting six goals in his last 10 appearances for the club.

And with PSG being rather unsubtle in mocking the forward, and it would come as no surprise to see him make them eat their words in west London tonight.
