Manchester City favourites to sign Arsenal man Oxlade-Chamberlain

Published:

Reports say England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is frustrated at the lack of first-team football he is receiving at the Emirates, and there are a string of interested Premier League clubs looking to acquire his services.

Pep Guardiola already seems to be lining up transfer targets ahead of his arrival at the Etihad, and the incoming Manchester City boss is 5/1 to swoop for the Ox.

With Pep’s history of developing young players and offering them game-time, it could be an ideal move to revitalise the out-of-favour Arsenal man’s career.

Southampton – the club where the 22-year-old began – are also believed to be extremely keen on acquiring his signature, with a return to the south coast club at 6/1.

Liverpool are next at 10/1, while Leicester City are set to bolster their squad ahead of a first ever Champions League campaign – and are 12/1 to add the Ox to their ranks.

A move across London is conceivable, with Chelsea the most likely of the capital clubs at 12/1, though the Gunners are unlikely to do business with fierce rivals Tottenham, with a Spurs switch a 20/1 shot.

The Gunners are next in action on Sunday when they host Crystal Palace.

A win over the Eagles at 1/3 would mark a significant step towards securing Champions League football next season – a feat which could possibly convince the restless Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay with Arsenal.
